Praise for the emergency department
To the GV Base Emergency Staff,
On the morning of March 16th 2014, I was camping/duck shooting along the Broken Creek, west of Nathalia, when I suffered a heart attack.
I was subsequently admitted to the GV Base by ambulance, where I received treatment before flying to Melbourne. I was then transported to Western Health, Footscray to have an angiogram and a stent installed.
I greatly appreciate the excellent treatment given to me that day by everyone involved, both ambulance and GV Base emergency staff.
The staff at Western Health cardiology unit were also excellent and I should pass on that they commented to me on what a great job the GV Base staff did prior to my admittance to Western Health.
I am now recovering well and will soon be back at work (bugger!).
Thank you very much again for the excellent treatment you gave me.
Friendly, caring service from Waranga District Nursing
30 September 2013
I have found this service to be an extremely friendly and caring service. All the nurses who have been a part of my care have been genuinely caring and extremely efficient.
I work in the disability field and it is hard to be on the other end; being the one who is being cared for instead of me being the carer.
In the community sector, in my experience, it is hard to come across carers in their fields (nursing) to have a geuine empathy for the people they are attending to. I have found every nurse from GV Nursing Rushworth to have this gift.

Terrific and helpful staff
I’d like to thank all the nurses for all the help they gave me, and doctors too. I actually had a good time in hospital. All staff were terrific and helpful, including the cleaners…
All my love

On several admissions to the hospital in the past few months, with treatment in the Mary Coram Wing, this member of your [pharmacy] staff was exceptional in administering my medication and no questions were too much trouble to answer. I gained full explanations of what was needed to achieve the best benefit. Both of us found him to be a caring person and it was a pleasure to be able to talk freely and gain a better understanding of the effects of medications prescribed. He is a very valuable member of your staff and trust that he will remain so for many years.

Making a nervous, painful time more manageable
The care from staff, from emergency through until surgery, was caring, professional and made a nervous, painful time more manageable. Jenny on surgical ward was especially caring, along with the Latrobe students.
